Maybe it started with the closing of Treasure Island, or maybe it was another nation wide close down of Rag Shop.
That huge 75% off everything sign led me to this whole new world I didn't know till then existed. Too bad those stores are gone for good now that I am very much into crafting.
Anyway, the moment I saw those spools and spools of candy colored satin ribbons sitting on the clearance rack, I started grabbing them like there was no tomorrow.
and there my obsession began.. Even with these sky high stacks, I still hesitate before I cut my ribbon thinking I might run out. Haha! If I find one that I really like, I usually buy some spare, for just in case...
Among them my favorites are Faux Raffias.
These are hard to find in Michaels or in AC Moore, I only saw them couple times in upscale gift shops or paperies. They usually come in rich earth-toned colors and have a very nice texture to it so when wrapped around gifts or anything, they instantly add subtle yet luxurious touch that will stands out from the ordinaries.

Hi Ribon-aholic :)
ReplyDeleteI think you should design a container to store and display them all. Cute post!
I like those poca-dot ribbons. I agree with Melinda. I saw a really cute way to store ribbons on apartmenttherapy.com. She used her tiny closet as her work-space, used inner door to store her ribbons and wrapping papers. You can just put two nails on each end and tie a long ribbon. All the ribbons hang inbetween.
